If there seems to be confusion and you are uncomfortable with your
present doctor, please seek a second opinion. PID can affect one side
but this is seen in women with IUDs. PID is rarely if ever seen in one
not sexually active. the one exception is inflammation from the
appendix causing unilateral PID on the right side involving the tube and
ovary.
