Re: depressionFrom: BJ (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 21 Sep 2002 14:25:30 -0500 (CDT)
Hello Anon, It is common for tubals to result in some degree of ovarian failure, probably due to interference with the blood circulation to the ovaries. This can result is a drop in progesterone levels and low progesterone can result in depression (progesterone is a mood enhancing hormone). This would also account for your messed up periods. You may want to ask your doctor to do some hormone level testing, and make sure he includes the progesterone. If you are low in progesterone then make sure you use real progesterone, not a synthetic progestin, for your supplementation. Take care and good luck! BJ
