Tracy,

Has your doc mentioned endometrial ablation? That might be an alterative to a hyst. You keep your uterus, but you can't have anymore kids. If that isn't possible, a hyst would certainly eliminate the bleeding problem. If you don't have endometriosis, they can leave your ovaries in and you more than likely won't go through menopause until you normally would. If you aren't on iron supplementation, you probably should be. Make sure you drink lots of water. Heavy bleeding can cause dehydration

Also, I would be wary about taking any herbs before talking to your doctor. Just because herbs are natural does not make them necessarily safe.
