pain with ovarian cystFrom: mj (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 20 Sep 2002 17:56:53 -0500 (CDT)
Yesterday, I had a pelvic ultra sound which showed I have 3.5 cm cyst on my ovary. I have had one ovary removed in the past due to a 24 cm mucus cystic adanoma/ dermoid combination. I had no pain with that huge mass until it torsioned. I am having a lot of pain with what I think is a pretty small cyst. I am getting severe stabbing pain and dull preasure pain. I also am having trouble urinating and have bad pain when having a bowel movment. My doctor wants me back in six weeks for another ultra sound. Is it possible this 3.5 cm cyst is causing this much pain? I wouldn't think I could even feel such a small cyst. I don't know if I should just grin and bear it for six weeks if I can, and assume this pain is normal or get back in touch with my doctor. I do have pcos and my ovary dose have many tiny other cysts on it. Thanks for any input.
