Hi Dr. Lapidus, I have tried researching the issue of removing the bartholin gland on the internet. I have a failed marsup and really dread having another marsup. I have some really specific questions on the issue of just taking out the gland and avoiding buildup of fluids. 1) will removal of gland affect my sexuality? other than some lack of lubrication on that side.. will it in any other way affect sexuality and lead to problems? 2) I would like a Ballpark figure on how many stitches Internal vs. External during the excision process of the gland.. and yes I realize each case is somewhat different , but i just want a ballpark estimate. 3) What sort of appearance will the labia have if the gland is excised/removed, vs the appearance of a marsup? 4) Can excision of the bartholin gland lead to future health problems in that area of excision? Thank you.
