Hi, First you need to know that a hysterectomy is not a cure for endo. Sometimes it works but if you have endo lesions anywhere other than the reproductive organs then the endo will continue to give you trouble. The only recognized surgical cure for endo is excision surgery, removal of all the endo lesions, with an endo specialist. This is around 80% effective and they do there best to save your organs. Lupron, as the doctor here suggested, is a stopgap measure to control the pain and it doesn't always work. In fact, the side effects from it may last well after you stop the drug. It is very dangerous and does nothing to cure the endo. There are non-surgical alternative treatments as well. I have used progesterone for 8 years and have successfully controlled my endo (see http://www.natural-progesterone-advisory-network.com). There are also acupuncture, diet, and other treatments. This is not an easy condition to deal with and each of us reacts differently to the various treatments. Learn as much as you can and be an active participant in the decision process. Good luck! BJ
