Possible neurological disorder and perimenopause?? For doctor and ladiesFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 19 Sep 2002 08:02:24 -0500 (CDT)
I'm not even sure what to call this on the subject line, and I'm not sure this is even hormonally related, but I welcome any responses. I am a healthy 45 year old, and in the past couple of years have developed an unusual symptom, but it only happens once every few months. After I first fall asleep, shortly after I will awaken suddenly with the feeling of my entire body jerking. It doesn't last long and I usually fall asleep again a few minutes later. It does not happen again during the night. My husband think this could be serious and should be checked. I looked around the internet and wonder if I have some kind of very mild epilepsy previously latent but has been brought out by hormonal changes. Thank you.
