malposition of tube and ovaryFrom: Kathy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 14 Sep 2002 09:45:13 -0500 (CDT)
I had vaginal hysterectomy 1-01 with repair of cystocele, rectocele, enterocele. Bladder sling. Since that time I've had vaginal discharge, yellowish, some bleeding, more recent green discharge, pain. Have a spot at the vaginal apex that won't heal, biopsy says granulation tissue twice. Treating with silver nitrate, but it's not going away, getting smaller, but won't go away. Am not diabetic. Did vaginal ultrasound 2 wks ago. Finding, the ovary is sitting there just at the top of the apex, seems stuck there, possibly drifted down there and stuck there, along with the tube, so obviously this is a problem. When it is touched sends pain to my back, side and thigh. Dr. thinks now it's probably the tube has gotten into that vaginal apex area where it was all sewed together, so it won't heal as long as the tube is in there, but isn't sure. I had to have the bladder sling taken down cause couldn't void, they warned of before surgery, but not that common, then removed two sutures that were eroding, so 2 surgeries since the hysterectomy. Now, looking at going back to surgery and removing the ovary and tube on Right side or removing tube and sewing the ovary further up into the pelvis into a more natural location. What effect hormone wise would removing one ovary have? I wonder if it's worth trying to save that ovary? Also, I was researching this, and was reading about adnexal torsion, how would we know if this is the problem? Any information helpful. I'm confused and getting upset at all of this now. I'm 40, have two kids 8 and 10 yrs. old. I had a tubal ligation in 1993. Thank You.
