Hi Ann,

I am not a doc, but here are some questions to think about. Are her periods regular? Did she have a medical reason for taking BCP's? Why did she go off the pills? Does she have excessive facial hair?

If you are not happy with the current treatment, a second opinion can be helpful. An endocrinolgist would be helpful if you find she does have a hormone imbalance. If your insurance company is like mine, they might not pay to see a specialist without going through your primary care doc or primary gyn first.

I hope this helps and good luck in finding an answer.

Best wishes, D.N.
