Kelly Shanahan, MD, FACOG: "Re: Abnormal periods with menstural burning" I just recently recieved a call from my Dr that my pap showed abnormal cells of unknown origin. I have to go back in 2 months but I've been having abnormal bleeding and bleeding during intercourse, My last period was 12 days long then I had full bleeding for 3 days 10 days later and 3 more days 7 days later. Whenever I have intercourse I start bleeding enough for a pad overnight but it goes away by the next day. Now I have had burning and irritation from my mensturation. I can wear a pad and a tampon and Im ok, but if I just wear a pad i get red and burn. Is this normal breakthrough bleeding? I'm 24 and I've been on the same birth control for 2 years.
