ultrasound questionFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSun, 1 Sep 2002 20:30:49 -0500 (CDT)
I recently had a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound done last week at an off base medical center...after experiencing bleeding, bloating and some sharp pains... and they were both extremely painful, to the point I was holding the sides of the exam table very tightly. I was surprised, because I have a very high pain threshold. It definitely hurt most on the right during the transvaginal ultrasound, when she was trying to find my right ovary. What could cause a high level of pain like that during an ultrasound? Thanks, I appreciate your help very much. (Our military hospital has been closed, except for ER, since Thursday...though I did have a call from one of my family practice dr's on Friday, following up on some labwork that another dr had done in Dec, which showed that I'm pretty anemic...that was the first time I'd heard about it...though once a few years back, labs came back as slightly anemic).
