Re: painful intercourseFrom: Laura (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 30 Aug 2002 20:35:38 -0500 (CDT)
Kimmie, You're welcome. I love to talk about this condition that binds so many women together. How they found my cyst was doing a sonogram or ultrasound, I can't quite remember what it was called. Just like how they see the baby. She rubbed this thing over my belly, and she wouldn't tell me anything, but I assumed that something was wrong when she concentrated so hard right over my left ovary she almost bruised me. She asked to do a transvaginal (same thing, but like a tampon) but since the reason I was in there was vaginal pain, that kinda defeated the purpose. But I guess the outside pictures were enough. I almost lost my ovary but they didn't have to take it, which was nice considering I was only 18. Well, hope this helps. As for talking to your doctor, you just have to learn to take control. It is your body and if there is pain, something is wrong. If you're not comfortable talking to your doctor, perhaps you should consider looking for a new one? You are the only one who knows exactly how you feel and where the pain is. No one else can do that for you. Love, Laura
