further pregnancies with a ruptured uterusFrom: joanne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 29 Aug 2002 16:48:26 -0500 (CDT)
No-one has been able to answer this so please please please help! I had a child last Aug but she was 26weeks prem (1lb 2oz) due to premature rupture of the membrane and chorioamnioitis, unfortunately my little girl passed away at just 9 days old. 3 weeks after giving birth (with no post-natal check up) I was admitted to emergency room with retained products causing sceptecemia and whilst removing the products my uterus was ruptured (at the top). The rupture was suitured although they should by rights have done a hysterectomy there and then so i was lucky. I have been told that i can try one more pregnancy although it will not go very far as my womb will not stretch very well. They say at 30 weeks if my womb does not rupture they will peform a c section and a hysterectomy in one go. Could anyone please tell me if there is anything i can do to help myself during this traumatic time as my doctor is not very good at explaining and obviously i have to give this the best shot i can. Yours hopefully J Trigg
