Contractions during intercourse?From: Kathryn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 Aug 2002 00:30:32 -0500 (CDT)
O.K. I know that abdominal contractions are normal for a woman to experience during labor, but is it normal during intercourse? Here is the situation...after orgasm has been reached, my body almost always begins to force my husband out of me by causing contractions almost spasmatically from inside of me. I cannot tell if it is part of my uterus or if it is my vagina, but it does it somehow. If I focus every ounce of energy, force, and strength of my muscels and mind, I can sometimes force the contractions to stop. I was not concerned before because I assumed that this was a normal reaction of my body, but after recovering from a fairly mild yeast infection, the contractions continued even after my husban withdrew. I have searched high and low to find any thought as to what might be a possible problem or even a few possible problems. I have no problem trying to do my homework, but I have no idea where to start. I look up abdominal pain, but mine is only due to the contractions and never seems to quite match up with things catigorized by "abdominal pain." the same is true of topics like, "painful intercourse" and "vaginal distress" or whatever other topics that look somewhat related. Do you have any ideas of even just a topic to start searching with or a truly overall medical dictionary to examine or a key word to try using to search on the on-line medical journals? If you have ANY suggestions, they would be truly appeciated. Thank you!
