Placenta Abruption and AdenomyosisFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSat, 24 Aug 2002 14:21:19 -0500 (CDT)
I am 40, have had 4 children. I have a long history of endometriosis, pelvic congestion, and chronic pelvic pain for 12 years. I just had a hysterectomy. After surgery the doctor told me he was pretty sure the path report would come back with Adenomyosis since most of my uterus on the outside was mottled white and dark blue. The path report confirmed this after a few days. The doctor said the anterior of my uterus was the worst area and had become stuck to my bladder and my bladder had massive adhesions all over it. I am wondering if there is a correlation between Adenomyosis and placenta abruption. My first pregancy was fine.... after that I had preterm labor with partial placenta abruption and emergency c-section at 31 weeks ... then a full term delivery but with lots of irritable uterine contractions that had me hospitalized several times .... the last was again lots of uterine irritability and then a placenta abruption at 38 weeks with emergency c-section.. The two times I had the placenta abruption, the placenta was anterior. That again was the area I had the worst adenomyosis. Thank you!
