Irregular BleedingFrom: Heather (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 22 Aug 2002 16:04:23 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 25 year old female with a history of hypothyroidism. I had a emergency c-section in 94, durring which the child died. In 10/98 I had a miscarriage due to preecclampsia. In 10/98 I had a miscarriage. I have no living children. Through all of this my periods had been regular. In 11/99 I was put on .250 mg levoxyl. Unfortunately I lost my health insurance in 5/01, therefor I didn't have the perscription for my meds. About a month later I started experiencing VERY heavy period, but they became never ending. I have now been bleedind heavily (continuously) since then, with the exception of 1 ER visit at which they gave me a perscription (Provera) which stopped the bleeding for a month. In the ER they did a CBC. My PTT & PT were normal, but my MPV was low (7.1). All other blood counts were good. What can be causing the bleeding? What can a low MPV mean? Any help will be greatly appriciated.
