insulin resistance, missed periods, uterus abnormalities and infertility??From: Sarah (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 20 Aug 2002 22:11:34 -0500 (CDT)
I am 26 yo and have been trying to get pregnant for over a year. My periods have never been regular. I was diagnosed 6 mo ago with insulin resistance and was put on Metofornin. THis medication caused GI problems so I stopped taking the medication. My obgyn was going to put me on clomid, but recommended I have an HSG completed first. My tubes appeared normal, however the radiologist determined I either have a partial septate or bicornuate uterus and recommended an MRI if clinically necessary to differentiate between the two. Can any of these problems be interelated? Could the uterus abnormality be a cause of missed periods due to decreased vascularization? What are the odds of getting preganat in the future and how long will this process take?
