Question about urination and clitorisFrom: Michelle (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 8 Aug 2002 13:24:58 -0500 (CDT)
I know the clitoris contains many nerve endings. I have been going through "something" for 8 months...an itch around my clitoris...in the folds of the labias...all cultures for STDs and urinalysis negative..pap fine..vulvar scope and colposcopy fine. I have been to a vuvlar specialist who prescribed triamcinolone ointment...which does help. All my doctors have just chalked this up to an "irritation". I have only used 4 days worth of the ointment, and will be careful, considering it is a steroid. It does help. Question: I sleep well, get up, urinate with no problem. As the day goes on, I notice that after urination, I feel a "sensation" around the clitoris, encompassing the "irritated" area (even before the ointment). I know the nerve endings and muscles of the clitoris "move" upon urination.....however, the urethra/urine does NOT burn or hurt. The urine DOES NOT hit the clitoris or irritated area..... Any ideas why I get this sensation around my clitoris after urination? Thank you! (Ladies input welcome!)
