6 wks u/s showing bleeding outside the sack

I've just come back from my u/s scan which confirmed I am 6 weeks. The baby is in the womb and the heart is beating, which is very reassuring, except that they said there was a small dark area running along the outside of the sack which they said was blood - only small though. They said it should settle down and hopefully all will be OK. Is there anything else you can tell me, what causes this and whether my pregnancy could be at risk. They were quite vague and said that it could be OK but then it might not be..... I am ever so nervous as this is our second pregnancy and our first one ended at 14 weeks as our baby had T18 - and I am just desperately hoping this one will be ok? I'm hoping you'll genuinely say there's nothing to worry about, and that it's really common, and most people are fine !

Thanks in advance for any help - Caz
