Daniel Braun, MD: "Re: menstruating, post oophorectomy" I have had two surgeries for removal of ovaries, one in 1976 and a second one in 2000. I anticipated surgical menopause after the second surgery, but instead I continued to menstruate every month. I know it is menstruation because I have a monthly progesterone spike. What I'm trying to figure out is how I could still be menstruating after having two ovaries removed. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
