When I was in my early 40's my fibroids grew larger and began impinging on my bladder and bowels. This may happen to you, or not. The symptoms were interfering with the quality of my life to a significant degree, so at age 43 I had a hysterectomy , but kept my ovaries. That was 3 years ago and I have no regrets about my decision. If I were you I would sit tight because you have no symptoms. Millions of women have fibroids without problems. Also there is a lot of research going on about fibroids, including a very promising new freezing technique being tested to eliminate fibroids. Current techniques for treating fibroids beside hysterectomy include myomectomy (but usually the fibroids gorw back), or artery embolization (only shrinks fibroids to some degree and is not done on small fibroids). Don't worry; you'll be fine.
