bleeding and cryoFrom: chantel (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 24 Jul 2002 08:24:02 -0500 (CDT)
Hello. I am sorry to keep posting to the board, but it appears the only place I actually get my questions answered ;-). Four months ago I had cryo therapy for mild dysplasia. I have been bleeding off and on ever since. For the first month it was a lot, like a period. Now it is bloody discharge after sex or exercise (yoga). I also have a consistent pain in my lower left abdomen. When I went to see a doctor for a repeat pap smear (three weeks ago) he cauterized some granular tissue and hoped the bleeding would stop. The next day the bleeding was heavier and there were large clumps of bloody tissue. I am still bleeding and he says that since the "cure is worse than the cold" that if the pap smear comes back normal he is reluctant to do anything else. My questions are: How long do I have to wait for pap smear results? Are these symptoms that something else could be wrong? And do I really have to just learn to "deal" with the bleeding? I am a newlywed. This is causing a strain on my marriage as my husband is afraid to touch me! Has anyone gone through a similar experience? Thanks in advance.
