side effects that stay on like an unwanted guest long after the party is over. For more information on symptoms and treatment of endometriosis visit www.EndometriosisZONE.org. From: angie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 22 Jul 2002 15:08:19 -0500 (CDT)
This is a question about off-loading birth control pill induced fluid. Brief back ground: I took Ortho for nearly two years. During that time I picked up twelve pounds of painful fluid. When I stopped taking it...within two months I dropped those pounds and the pain vanished. Yeehaw! Six months later I gave Mircette a try (to get rid of returned acne and because it is billed as causing less side effects, expecially weight gain). BIGGEST mistake of my life. Literally overnight, I swelled up like the Michelan Man. My feet became painful cushions. I picked up EVEN more weight this time. Eighteen-pounds! After three weeks I couldn't take it anymore, so I quit. The problem: The swelling remains an entire year later. The doctors/pharmacists have no explaination or ideas of how to get rid of it. Question: If I take Ortho again and then stop it, what do you think the chances are of this weight shedding like it did last time? If I decided to give it a try, what are the fewest amount of months I would have to take it to recreate the wanted effect?
