Kelly Shanahan, MD, FACOG: "Re: [Birth Control] BCP and risk of breast cancer" As a young (20s) person with a family history of breast cancer I have been struggling with the idea of using birth control pills. It seems that there are research studies that indicate "no increased risk" and also others that report increased risk of breast cancer. I realize that there are other methods of contraception available but most are not as effective. So.... is their an increased risk of breast cancer with use of the BCP????
