'cycling' after menopause ???From: Curious (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 17 Jul 2002 21:03:55 -0500 (CDT)
Not quite sure how to make myself clear on this: 10 years since menopause can one still encounter some non-bleeding cycling? i.e. "bloodless" body changes as in menstraution? When Crohn's was active there was a DEFINITE correlation w/menstrual cycle & severity of Crohn's flares. After a LONG Crohn's remission experienced a flare 4 years ago which has thought to be in remission until recently. Almost seems to be a "cycle" to the recent symptoms. In addition for first time have experienced "twinges" in the lower RIGHT abdomen which is where "new" area of Crohns was discovered 4 years ago. Gastro ordered CT scan instead of WBC scan & cyst on left ovary discovered. Abdominal & endovaginal ultrasound report not received yet but cyst "appeared" to be a functional cyst. Ceretec WBC scan hasn't been ordered yet to determine any Crohn's inflammation. Considerably more concerned about any current Crohn's activity than that ovarian cyst but wondering about a correlation. I know spayed dogs can "cycle" despite complete spay and often have urinary incontinence problems during the time they would normally have cycled. Can something similar occur in humans?
