Just started OvretteFrom: Alison (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 15 Jul 2002 23:03:30 -0500 (CDT)
I am 21 years old and had a miscarriage in november and needed a D&C. Since then my periods have become very painful, and I get really nauseous when my period arrives, and this will last until my period ends. This month I was put on the mini pill, I will be starting my first pack in about a week. The most common kind seems to be micronor, but my obgyn put me on Ovrette. I have tried the combination pills but had bad side effects, I have systemic lupus, so I'm not sure if it was because of that or not. I have tried to find info on Ovrette but have found very little, other than it's usually prescribed to women over 35 or women who smoke or are overweight, I'm none of these. Why would my doctor put me on Ovrette? What are the side effects? Will this pill help my painful periods? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really nervous about going on something not really that natural.
