Depends. Leaving it has a slight risk for having recurrent fibroids in the cervix. If you have had abnormal paps in the past, it probably should go. If you have a large intravaginal (?Cervical?) component to orgasm, maybe it should stay.

Would it affect my sex life if I do not leave it? See above.

What is the >purpose of the cervix?

A pathway to and from the uterus.

Do the ovaries still function the same after a >hysterectomy?

Most of the time.
