I have fibroids that are growing in my uterus and they have found an endometrial stripe when I had an ultrasoud. I had a biopsy a year ago and it was normal. I had an ultersound in November 2001 and my fibroids were 2.6 x 3.85 cm. In April 2002 my fibroids are now 5.0 x 5.7 cm. I also have functional cysts in my ovaries which alternately come out each month. I am thinking about having a hesterectomy. My questions are should I leave my cervix? Would it affect my sex life if I do not leave it? What is the purpose of the cervix? Do the ovaries still function the same after a hysterectomy? Next message: R.
