Low Libido & not able to take HRT.From: Mary (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 10 Jul 2002 02:50:47 -0500 (CDT)
I have had 2 bouts with Breast Cancer. Over the past few years I have experienced lack of libido and an inability to orgasm. Although some of my libido it is coming back, the orgasm is rather numb and takes a lot of work for so little feeling if none at all. I am not able to take HRT due to estrogen positive breast cancer. Is it ok to use a testerone cream? I feel I am too young (53)to live like this, and I have seen very little on the subject of what to do in a case of women with a breast cancer past. What do you suggest? I should also add that I take the antidepressant Celexa. However, as I look back over the years, this lack of libdo and "numb" orgasm has been slowly happening for about 10 years (before cancer and celexa). My gyn wants my husband and me to see a sex therapist, but I don't think that's the problem. Even though we've had a lot of stress in our family over the years, I don't believe my problem is mental. My husband is also on an antidepressant due to an anxiety disorder, therefore we seem to be "mismatched" in our sexlife. What seems to take me a long time if at all, needs to be quick for him or he loses it. As I said I can find very little on this subject, so I would appreciate some advice. Thank you
