diethylstilbestrol estropipate is a generic for Estrace, Climara, Estratab, FemHrt, Menest, Premarin and Vagifem

Prempro and Premphase are 0.625 mg of conjugated estrogens and 2.5 mg of medroxyprogesterone.

Go to http://www.helioshealth.com/cgi-bin/birth_control/pillsearch.cgi. You'll see that the birth control pill contains different types of estrogen and progesterone than what HRT contains.

For all intents and purposes, there is no 100% no side effect, no long term problem pill. You're looking for a Holy Grail that doesn't exist. The pill has side effects, its just up to each person and their doctor as to what they consider to be a risk they are willing to take. Not everyone wants to go back to no pill days. In addition, the pill is used for other events, such as endometriosis, that HRT isn't. The pill beats Lupron and surgery all time.

Btw, why haven't you posted your name and regular email?

Yesterday the government suddenly halted the Women's Health Initiative, the lengthy study on HRT, citing the dangers of HRT.

Why then, are birth control pills considered completely safe when they contain the same hormones as an HRT regimen? Please explain. And, what are you telling the patients in your practice about the NIH's recommendations?
