Re: Needing medical treatment but to terrified to seekFrom: Another (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 8 Jul 2002 00:41:18 -0500 (CDT)
Hi Maria, Weren't you the one with the very heavy periods? Please, call your FP back and ask for an anti anxiety medication (Ativan, Zanax, Valium, etc.) to help you through this. Although many may be hesitant, if she is truly compassionate, she'll see the need for it this once. It will work wonders to relieve your anxiety so you can focus on your health problems and their solution. Just make sure someone else does the driving and you should come through just fine with problem solved or at least on the mend. You aren't alone by any means in having trouble summoning the courage to see a GYN, in manner of degree that may decrease with time. Don't feel bad asking for what you need to get through this. Good Luck! AA
