I also agree with "Anonymous" that you should not predicate your symptoms on just one person so I would suggest that you see a Doctor (and you do need to rule out pregnancy). Your Doctor can do an FSH test. They are relatively inexpensive and will give you information that you need. If you read through the archives at Earlymenopause.com, you will see that many women gain weight during the transition and many times it comes upon a person very quickly. It (the weight) also may go away after menopause. This is a very confusing time and you need to inform yourself. It is even more confusing IF you are, indeed, in Early Menopause.
