Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you've gone through this also.

I had a HGSIL pap, CIN II-III on colposcopy directed biopsy followed by a LEEP. The LEEP pathology came back showing no dysplasia whatsoever. Like you, I questioned whether I had the LEEP unneccesarily. After reading the response to my question posted here from one of the doctors I tend to believe that the biopsy got all the dysplasia, and therefore there was nothing left in the LEEP sample. Had I gone right from pap to LEEP I would be more concerned that matters were rushed.

I am not sure why you had a cone instead of LEEP, but thats neither here nor there now. What I am concerned about though is that you follow up closely and get the quarterly paps in case this dysplasia rears its ugly head again. At that time you can surely ask that all testing be looked at twice for second opinions. I know I will from now on, just to reassure myself.

Good luck to you,

Sarah
