3rd Degree Prolapse

Hi All:

It's been awhile since I have been here and even longer since I have posted, but my history is as follows. Feb.2001 I had a vaginal vault suspension, peyrera bladder repair. The bladder repair failed and has been getting progressively worse. I went to see the gyn who did my procedure and he tells me I am now at a 3rd degree prolapse. I have had several "second opinions" and all but my gyne said I could wait on having a 2nd repair done. I went to see mine b/c I knew the bladder had gotten lower b/c I can no longer wait to go to the bathroom. I leak horribly and even carry extra "pads" and underwear. My gyne didn't seem to happy when I said I wanted to wait until the fall to do something about it...he does not do the sling procedure (which I am electing to do this time), but he and his former partner (who practices at the same hospital) are going to work together and I will have the sling procedure done. I am scared to death b/c the whole experience was horrible for me. My question is, I have a tremendous amount of vaginal scar tissue (due to multiple procedures) and my gyne doesn't think he can remove much of it b/c they will need to have it there for the sling procedure..can you explain this to me??

Thanks,

--
