Daniel Braun, MD: "Re: Menstrual Cycle concerns" Lately I have been having some odd things happen during my menstrual cycle...such as beginning my period dark brown instead of bright red, and most recently I have experienced very sharp shooting pain in the lowest part of my abdomen during my period...it does not last long but is quite uncomfortable. I also began experiencing some pain much lower, most notable when I use the restroom during my period. Is there anything I should be concerned about, or are these things normal?
