[Birth Control] Apprehensive about the Pill

Hello- I'm a 25 year old, healthy female considering starting the Pill. I do not have a history of gynecological cancer nor breast cancer in my family. My doctor says that the Pill is safe in terms of breast cancer, but all the studies that I read say that evidence is inconclusive and there is a 'slight risk' associated with taking oral contraceptives. How many women with breast cancer are also oral contraceptive users or have used them in the past? Does that statistic exist? Also, are today's studies based on the new, low dose pills or the high dose pills of the past? I don't want to put something in my body that may be toxic to my health in years to come. Please advise as I am confused. Thanks for your help!
