Could have been implantation bleeding for your sister. If she was pregnant, then it wasn't a true period.

It's not unusual to have a period different than your norm from time to time.

Could be implantation bleeding. If you were sexually active and not using any contraception, or missed pills if you are on OCP's, pregnancy is always a thought....there again, if you are sexually active, even with birth control, you could always be pregnant...the only thing that is 100% effective is abstinence.

I'd give your doc a call and let him/her know what is going on. S/he can run a blood test to check for pregnancy.
