Is it safe to ttc?From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 20 Jun 2002 22:22:33 -0500 (CDT)
I have Lupus which seems to be under control except for what my rheumatologist is calling "anemia of chronic disease." hct: 30, hgb: 9, wbc: 3 iron stores, serum iron, etc. all normal, lymphocytes low. He says that it appears I am suffering from mild "bone marrow supression" (I am not on any drugs except for plaquenil to control my Lupus.) The RE I WAS seeing won't treat me until my hct is 33 OR I have a definite diagnosis and treatment plan; however, my rheumie is taking a "wait and see" approach. The RE didn't say not to ttc and the rheumie doesn't seem to be against it, but I wonder if it safe? What would happen to me and/or my future child if I did become pregnant now? Should my docs be more agressive in treating my anemia?
