Might be due to whatever was going on that caused you to take it. Quitting cold turkey like that could have caused some severe problems, but you were lucky and it didn't. Doctors usually have a very good reason to recommend that you do something. If you don't want to do what they recommend you should discuss it with them before you ignore it. It could save your life.
