Not sure where to turn.From: Ariel (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 19 Jun 2002 15:54:37 -0500 (CDT)
I'll start with saying that my husband and I have been trying to conceive for 8 months now. I have 2 other children from a previous marriage. I am not on any medication at the time and am not a heavy alcohol user. I also do not use drugs. A little over a year ago I had an abnormal pap smear. Not sure what the medical name for it is, but the nurse told me abnormal cell growth on my cervix. My period usually starts on the 20th of every month. Last month it did not start until the 24th, however when it did start it was normal. Last weekend I experienced very light spotting on the morning of the 15th. By that evening the spotting had stopped. However after having sex with my husband (that same evening) it started again. I also experienced very painful cramping for about an hour. The bleeding and cramping stopped that night but I was sore for 2 days because of the cramps. Now 4 days later I've started bleeding again. I'm not sure if this is the start of my period or if this is more spotting. Could someone please tell me what, if anything, all this means. Could the abnormal cell growth be preventing me from getting pregnant and should I be concerned about the spotting and heaving cramping. I apologize for the long post. Any time given would be greatly appreciated.
-- Again, thank you for your time.
