Not a doctor but just wanted you to know that I started Mircette on the first day of my cycle (Mircette is VERY similar to Alesse) and I had the exact same thing happen. I think it has something to do with starting these pills on the first day of your period. I never had the problem when I did a Sunday start. I took the pill for 8 days but had to quit because of other side effects. It is day 15 and I am still spotting. You will probably have an odd time of it until you get your period again. Christine
