I quit using OTC after just two weeks because I was getting leg cramps and a burning sensation in the veins in my legs. The veins all over my body became much more noticable, and bluish-green in color. I've been off OTC for 3 weeks now and the leg cramps and burning have gone away, but my body still looks like a road map of veins. My Dr. said she's not sure what this is. She gave me a low dose pill called Mircette. Since Mircette contains desogen ( a progesterin more likely to cause clots that the others, according to the package insert), and five days of pills with only estrogen I'm not sure whether I want to try it or not. If I have varicose veins, or the beginnings of them, would this be dangerous to try? I don't want to make my veins any worse.
