Teenage daughter -mood disorders- weight problem-could she have teststerone imbalance? From: Jan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 6 Jun 2002 11:21:32 -0500 (CDT)
My 14 year old daughter started to put on excess weight when she was about 12 years old. She now weighs nearly 200 lbs. and is 5'5" tall. She has broad shoulders and is built very square. She has mood problems and behavioral problems. She is extremely loud, she yells whenever she talks. She is consistantly picking fights with her siblings. She also has a hard time getting along at school. She sometimes screams for no reason except to get other people angry. Then when they get angry, she just smiles or laughs. I took her to the doctor about a month and ahalf ago and he put her on prozac. It helps a little. Yesterday I following my daughter on her bike and I noticed what well developed muscles she had in her legs. They looked like a man's legs. Later on I noticed that she had quite long peach fuzz on her face. That started me to thinking maybe she has too much testosterone. She is depressed, and needs help. If you know anything about this condition please respond. Jan
