Both surgeries involve removing the uterus. The difference between the two is that the radical also removes tissues and ligaments near the uterus,pelvic lymph nodes, and the upper vagina.

Can't really answer the wait time for results because it can vary by workload, but a week is pretty standard from my experience. Hope this helps.
