Re: Corpus Luteum cystFrom: Maggie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 31 May 2002 18:41:54 -0500 (CDT)
The cyst is larger than the last one, which was 5-6 cm. I have had 13 surgeries over the last four years and keep experiencing severe cysts, re-current endo and of course, terrible adhesions. My doctor is a reproductive endocrinologist that only works with people that other doctors don't know what to do with. He looks at a hysterectomy as the very last resort. I am just very concerned because I know all too well that a hysterectomy probably won't stop my pain, not to mention the issues dealing with the lack of children!! Even though I realize that pregnancy is never going to happen for me, it is just too sad to think of being 29, childless and having a hysterectomy. The last time that I sought the opinion of another well-respected GYN, she was completely freaked out by my history. I guess my mistake was bringing surgical notes and copies of pictures from my most recent ultrasounds. I do have an appointment with my general doctor on Wednesday to discuss this recent finding. She has experienced many of my same health issues and is wonderful regarding advice and extra options. Does anyone have any of the same history or advice to share? > >Hi Maggie: > >How big was that corpus luteum cyst? Perhaps you could get a copy of the >ultrasound report and post what it said.
