complex endometrial hyperplasiaFrom: Schmitz (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 31 May 2002 18:03:39 -0500
I am 53 years old and have just been diagnosed with complex endometrial hyperplasia without atypia. I have always had non-regular periods, except while taking birth control pills during my 20's. I am about 10 pounds overweight, so obesity isn't a factor. My ob-gyn's first treatment option was a hysterectomy, although she did say that I could try progesterone for 3 months. I would like to avoid a hysterectomy if it is safe to do so. Am I taking an unnecessary risk by trying a medical treatment instead of a surgical one? Marla Schmitz
