I'm 35, married, have 3 children: boys (11 & 12.5), girl (2 1/2). No fertility issues, normal pregnancies. Diagnosed with stage 1 endometriosis via laproscopy on 7/31/01. Several adhesions removed, ovaries looked normal. One adhesion remains on left ureter. Currently not treating endo. Daily meds: 4mg Zanaflex, 30mg Prevacid, 5mg Clarinex, multi-vitamins. Cycle usually 28 days. Mild cramping with almost every period and ovulation. Take Naproxen as needed.

Since having the laproscopy, period cycles have varied with 24 days in March. April I spotted for 12 days prior the start of my period on 4/26, day 23. I bled only 2 days, mild. This month, no spotting until the 24th, day 29, then flow on day 31 (the 26th). This period acted fairly normal except for the lateness. I don't think I have ovulated for the past 3 months. I had a culture done mid-April: no infection. Hormone levels were checked on day 7 of my April cycle: TSH 1.222 UIU/ML; FSH 6.5 mIU/ml; estradiol 21 pg/ml (range 20-84). Vaginal ultrasound the same day revealed no abnormalities. I've put on 10 lbs in the past 3-4 months without changing eating habits, currently 164 lbs, 5'5" tall. I'm not under any unusual amount of stress and my husband had a vasectomy done 3 years ago, so I can't be pregnant.

I went in today (5/31) for my yearly gyn check-up, the gyn did a pap. He considers my estrogen level to be normal, though I consider it low. No unusual findings with the pelvic. So he put me on the Ortho Evra patches to get my periods back in-sync. I'm to do 2 courses (months) and report back. Would this be the usual treatment or should more tests be done?
