Hi Shirley:

If the pain is severe or accompanied by vomitimg, please go to the closest ER. Otherwise, call your Dr and let him/her know what is happening.

How long has this been happening? How bad is the pain? Have you ever had abdominal or pelvic surgery? Abdominal swelling and pain are symptoms of a variety of conditions, and I think that you need to see a Dr for a complete evaluation. A full bowel obstruction is severely painful (like you can't move/breathe painful), you would have other symptoms like no b.m.'s, and it's usually - but not always -accompanied by vomiting.

I hope this helps, and feel better soon.
