Cervical DysplasiaFrom: Betsy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 23 May 2002 18:23:33 -0500 (CDT)
I was diagnosed with severe dysplasia in December 1996. I had a cold knife cone in January 1997. Since then, I have faithfully gone for pap smears every six months, more often the first year. So far, knock on wood, the dysplasia has not returned. I was wondering, if you could tell me what are the chances of it returning after all this time. I am scheduled to go for another pap very shortly and I am starting to panic again that it will return. I go through hell from the time after the pap until the time I call for the results, usually two to three weeks. Also, do you think that stress plays any part in cervical dysplasia. Thanks for answering my question. You doctors and health professionals provide a wonderful service to us.
