Constant bleedingFrom: Julie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 22 May 2002 20:52:21 -0500 (CDT)
I am 35 years old and have had 4 c-sections and a tubal litagation. I have had regular periods my entire life. In March of this year I started bleeding and have not stopped since. I went to my obgyn and was told it was Uterine cysts and I needed a hysterectomy. I tested for uterine cysts. It was negitive and my uterus was completly normal. Now I am being told it is due to a hormonal imbalance. My obgyn put me on progesterin to stop the bleeding but bleeding continued. I was told again I need to have a hysterectomy and recvd a Depro shot and estrogen patches .50 mg. I am still bleeding. The bleeding is extremly heavy. Are there any alternitves other than having a hysterectomy? Is there a blood test to see what my hormone levels are? The only blood test the Dr. ran was a CBC. I was told I was anemic and was told to take a vitaman. It seems that is the only solution my doctor has. I am recently married and we had considered having another child.
